Jennifer West, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She is passionate about training the next generation of clinical psychologists and serves as the Associate Director of Clinical Psychology Training and the Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychology Doctoral Internship track. She provides individual supervision, coordinates a professional development seminar for psychology interns, and teaches about child therapy treatment techniques, termination, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in the psychotherapy seminar.

Jennifer has previously collaborated on research focused on developing emotion regulation skills for at-risk children in the Rochester City School District. She is currently a co-investigator on a federally funded grant that is studying the use of standardized patients to improve suicide prevention skills with residents and nurse practitioner students. Jennifer has provided clinical service in the Department of Pediatrics for the past 16 years. She currently works with patients in the Pediatric Pulmonary, GI, and Craniofacial Clinics and has a strong commitment to working as a member of interdisciplinary teams to provide strength-based care. She also has a small independent practice specializing in children, adolescents, and young adults.

Jennifer received her PhD in Clinical (Child) Psychology from the University of Denver and is a proud alumna of Mount Holyoke College. She lives in Rochester with her husband Paul and her two sons, Etienne and Bereket.

Followed by the award presentation, Dr. West will be invited to share her life as a psychologist.
