Reaching out for help is a courageous and important step. My goal is to provide you a non-judgmental and culturally affirming space where you can safely explore your emotional worlds - both past and present. After all, we’re all human and don’t go through life unscathed. My hope is that therapy will serve as a space to empower you to deepen your relationship with yourself, better understand your relational patterns, and live a life that aligns with what truly matters to you.

I view mental health through a holistic (i.e., biopsychosocial), relational, and trauma-informed lens. With advanced training in evidence-based modalities like Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy, Gottman Method, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and experiential psychodynamic approaches, I collaborate with clients to tailor my therapeutic approach to the context of their unique experiences and goals.

Psy.D. Spalding University, 2000. In private practice since 2004 working with adult individuals and couples. Special areas of interest include anxiety and mindful eating.

My goal is to foster collaborative partnerships with clients who are motivated to make changes. I would characterize myself as contemplative and thoughtful, yet I am not the kind of therapist who will leave you 'on the couch' while I utter "mm-hmm". Clients have told me they appreciate my compassion and straightforwardness, and they like the balance of insight with concrete information and skills they are able to use to work between sessions.

Being a psychologist has special meaning to me, and I care deeply about my work. I hope this offers helpful information in your search for a therapist, and I welcome you to contact me for a consultation at (585) 703-1352.

Welcome, and thank you for considering me as your therapist! I am a licensed child and adolescent psychologist specializing in youth anxiety treatment and in supporting parents and caregivers navigating emotional and behavioral challenges that can feel overwhelming at times. I work closely alongside families to build practical, research-supported strategies to promote coping skills and resilience. Whether you are a parent seeking guidance or a child or teen looking to feel heard and understood, I strive to create a warm, supportive environment where clients feel safe, respected, and actively involved in the therapy process.

I have over seven years of experience supporting youth from diverse backgrounds with anxiety, stress, emotional dysregulation, behavioral challenges, and trauma. I integrate CBT with other evidence-based models and have received training in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and TF-CBT.

I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is key to effective therapy and value working as part of a child’s broader support team—partnering with families, schools, pediatricians, and other providers when appropriate. I invite you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to ask questions and explore whether working together feels like a good fit.

I am a licensed psychologist who works with adolescents and adults on a variety of mental health issues. I specialize in relationships and attachment issues, family problems, depression, anxiety, grief, adjustment and identity concerns. I enjoy working with my clients to explore how their problems developed, build understanding around why their problematic patterns continue, and empower them to make meaningful changes in their lives.

My therapeutic orientation generally includes a combination of psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approaches (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, exposure therapy, mindfulness, etc.). I am also trained in EMDR. I help people recognize patterns in their behavior, gain insight into their emotions, thoughts, and behavior, create meaningful change, approach difficulties in interpersonal relationships, reduce stress, cope with anxiety and depression, and improve their outlook on life. I tend to be active in the therapeutic process and I feel that trust, empathy, and acceptance are essential for effective psychotherapy. I specialize in grief (including grief related to death by suicide), couples therapy and relationships, infertility, anxiety (especially OCD, generalized anxiety, phobias, and panic), the college/graduate student populations, and working with those in the medical professions. I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS), and I work to integrate psychotherapy and yoga in group settings, especially focusing on anxiety, sleep, burnout, and grief.

Natalie Nordlund, PsyD NCSP, is a licensed psychologist dedicated to building connections with children, teenagers, and young adults. With experience in both clinical and educational environments, she has worked with a diverse range of clients, offering both remote and in-person services. Her expertise includes individual and group therapy, wellness and mental health programming, and consultation. Dr. Nordlund has a keen interest in helping clients facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, life transitions, grief and loss, healthy emotional coping, social skills, relationship navigation, and the effects of trauma. She takes pride in supporting clients who struggle with self-expression, including those experiencing shyness, trust issues, ASD, and resistance to therapy.

Dr. Nordlund earned her B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from Drake University, followed by her M.Ed. in Psychology, Ed.S. in School Psychology, and Psy.D. in School Psychology from The Chicago School (formerly The Chicago School of Professional Psychology). As a licensed psychologist and a nationally certified school psychologist, she employs a variety of therapeutic modalities, including expressive-based and creative therapies, narrative therapy, play therapy, and trauma-focused CBT.

“I am committed to ensuring treatment is personalized to meet an individual’s needs and aim to fully see, value, and affirm clients for all aspects of their identity, background, and experiences. I aim to ensure a safe, welcoming, supportive, and healing therapeutic space where people can feel truly seen and heard in a way that works best for them. I often incorporate self-expression tools and activities (e.g., art, journaling, music) depending on one’s interests and preference for expression, exploration, and processing. When working with youth, I often additionally incorporate play-based therapy and infuse various educational media formats to help demonstrate and prompt discussion about various concepts and skills in a way that can further connect with them, such as children’s books, songs, and videos.”

I received my BA, MA and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Rochester. During my undergraduate years, I also studied voice at the Eastman School of Music. After graduation, I worked with maltreated adolescents at the Mt. Hope Family Center, where I later began research to better understand how beliefs about control relate to clinical symptomatology in high-risk youth. After completing a Post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Rochester Counseling Center (UCC), I joined the faculty as a Staff Psychologist and ultimately became the Director of UCC until I resigned in 2012 to pursue full time private practice.During my 10+ years in college mental health, I provided supervision and consultation to many professionals who were in training to learn the practice of psychotherapy. I also provided consultation and educational workshops to many diverse individuals and groups of faculty and staff on the University of Rochester campus and the broader community. The basis of any good counseling relationship is finding someone you can connect with and who seems to "get you". I strive to provide an environment that facilitates trust, respect, compassion and understanding for your uniqueness. I work in a proactive, collaborative, flexible and transparent way. I am direct and open, offer honest feedback and insightful challenges. I help you search for maladaptive patterns and work with you on trying new approaches. I believe everyone has core strengths that with the right support and guidance will serve as a foundation for more self-confidence, healthier relationships and increased self-fulfillment. I see individuals, couples, families & groups providing psychotherapy & life-coaching. Attachment & relationship concerns are a focus of my work. Special populations: LGBTQ, helping professionals: therapists & medical ; creative individuals: musicians & artists. In addition to Psychotherapy, I provide life-coaching sessions which focus on specific, measurable, appealing, realistic and timely goals. Furthermore, I address the motivational issues and fears that can be obstacles to achieving successful outcomes. Providing a source of accountability is another important component of a coaching relationship. You can count on me to work with you on follow-through once you begin working toward achieving your goals. I am experienced in treating a wide array of concerns and disorders including: • Coaching to meet specific goals • Relationship and family issues • Sexuality, sex therapy, sexual compulsions • Sexual and gender identity, LGBTQ • Trauma/sexual abuse/child abuse and neglect • Stress management • Depression/mood disorders • Anxiety/fears • Adjustment concerns/developmental issues/life transitions • Career and work concerns • Attachment issues • Grief- loss person or pet • Adolescents of divorced parents • Families in transition/separation/divorce • Intimacy concerns • Anger and conflict resolution • Assertiveness/boundaries • Creative blocks • Existential questions about meaning and purpose • Addiction/compulsive behavior/lack of control My approach to therapy is integrative. I utilize various theories and approaches to maximize the opportunity for growth, learning and change. I treat each individual as unique and develop the right treatment plan for you with your collaboration. The foundation of successful psychotherapy is in the relationship between the therapist and the client. I encourage open dialogue about the therapy relationship and process throughout the course of working together. I am compassionate and supportive while also providing honest feedback and insightful challenges. I am both proactive and interactive in my approach while listening closely and deeply. You will find I engage with each person in a unique, “real,â€ÂÂ direct, and genuine way.

My job is to help you learn how to master the skills needed to regulate your emotions and develop healthy, satisfying relationships in your personal life and at work. My approach to treatment begins with an assessment of the problems you brings to me in the context of your personal history and your current family, community, and work situations. I will then work with you to craft a treatment plan that addresses your longer term treatment goals by clearly outlining a path of weekly goals that will lead you to a successful outcome. My treatment approach integrates Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, EMDR, and Family Systems therapy.

Hey there! I'm Dr. Tangeria Adams (she/her). I specialize in providing short and long-term psychotherapy for adults (college-aged and beyond) with anxiety conditions, OCD and OCD-related conditions, and trauma/PTSD. I use evidence-based techniques and a strengths-based perspective to support clients in building insight and coping skills to manage these conditions. I provide teletherapy, which is convenient for many people and as effective as in-person psychotherapy. I have available openings for new clients at this time.

My approach to therapy is both collaborative and evidence-based in order to provide effective treatment to meet your goals. My practice focuses on a variety of mental health disorders including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), specific phobias, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), school refusal, social anxiety, and body dysmorphic disorder. Throughout therapy, I will work together with you to overcome the challenges that you are experiencing and to improve the parts of your life that are important to you.

Throughout my career, I have focused on evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to address a range of mental health disorders. I received specialized training in exposure and response prevention (ERP) for OCD as well as Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure for PTSD.
